Alex Schweizer, the Grand Marshall of the 2024 April Fool’s Day Parade, was born on April 1, 1962. As a Swiss-Italian-American mix, he’s more than just a cheesy nice guy. A native Floridian, he is constantly basking in sunshine, a trait he shares with Mayor Toby. When asked about the chance to ride along with the newly-elected Mayor of Tryon, Alex said “I couldn’t be more honored than to embrace the day with His Honor!” Katie Terry, the newly elected Grand Duchess who will accompany Toby and Alex, wants to assure the wonderful people of Tryon that “Alex is at least 80, maybe 85% good boy, I guess.”
