Alex Schweizer, the Grand Marshal of the 2024 April Fool’s Day Parade, will serve again as Grand Marshal in 2025! Alex was born on April 1, 1962. As a Swiss-Italian-American mix, he’s more than just a cheesy nice guy. A native Floridian, he is constantly basking in sunshine, a trait he shares with Mayor Toby. When asked about the chance to be in the parade with the Dog Mayor of Tryon, Alex said “I couldn’t be more honored than to embrace the day with His Honor!” Katie Terry, the Grand Duchess who will accompany Toby and Alex, wants to assure the wonderful people of Tryon that “Alex is at least 80, maybe 85% good boy, I guess.”
